Bagan is an ancient city in Myanmar's Mandalay Region and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was the capital of the Pagan Kingdom between the ninth and thirteenth centuries.

Thousands of religious monuments once stood across the Bagan plains. More than two thousand temples and pagodas still remain, preserving an important part of Myanmar's history and architecture.
